Eucharistic Visitors

This group shares communion directly from the Sunday altar with members of our parish family who are unable to be in church. Do you feel called to a to be a Eucharistic Visitor Contact: Don Nicholson.

Friendly Freezer

Join us in baking treats or cooking meals for our ‘Friendly Freezer’ in the Church Office. Clergy and Eucharistic Visitors deliver these homemade gifts to homebound parishioners and those in the hospital to remind them that they are loved and cared for. Contact: Linda Heiss.

Helping Hands

This ministry helps to provide meals and/or transportation to those in critical need. We hope to ease the burden when parishioners have been hospitalized, ill, or in need of meals and driving. Contact: Lori Skalitzky.

Hospitality

St. Martin’s has a glorious tradition of gathering to eat cake. Help make this tasty tradition possible by joining the hospitality team. Volunteers help organize special receptions like youth confirmations or special events. Contact: Ann Bacot Edwards.

Sunday Support

This ministry helps support our clergy with worship. The incredible effort and faithfulness of these volunteers help us all to better serve God here in our holy space at St. Martin’s, and everywhere we go as the people of Christ. Acolytes

Our acolytes lead worship at the 10:00 a.m. service by carrying the cross and torches. Acolytes serve approximately once a month. Youth, grades 3 and older are welcome to acolyte.

Chalice Bearers

Chalice bearers help serve the sacrament of Holy Communion by sharing the communion wine during the service(s). Volunteers need to be 16 years or older.

Intercessor

Leads the congregation in the Prayers of the People.

Lectors (Readers)

The proclamation of God’s Word during our worship services is a truly holy and vital ministry. We encourage a wide range of voices and welcome all youth, grades 4 and older, and adults.

Server

Servers carry the Gospel Book during the opening of the service, hold the book while the Gospel is read, and serve at the Altar during Holy Communion. Youth, grades 9 and older, and adults can volunteer and will receive training.

Ushers

Assist the congregation, maintain the worship space, and collect the attendance at each service. They are among the people who greet parishioners and visitors, setting a welcoming tone for all.

Behind the Scenes

Not every ministry is front and center—and that’s a beautiful thing. These ministries offer meaningful ways to support worship and parish life through quiet, purposeful service. These roles are perfect for those who feel called to serve in calm, reflective ways. It’s a quiet strength that helps everything come together.

Altar Guild

Working in teams every 3 to 4 weeks, these volunteers prepare the Sanctuary for worship and Holy Eucharist. By devoting 1-2 hours a weekend, they help keep worship services as smooth and seamless as possible for the clergy and congregation. Contact: Adele Greenis.

A/V Ministry

Help spread the Good News and serve the wider community by helping us to livestream the 10:00 a.m. services. We are looking for volunteers serve on our team. Each Sunday we have two team members: one volunteer to manage the camera and one who monitors and controls the sound. Training and shadowing available. Open to everyone 9th grade and older. Counters

Responsible for counting offerings and pledges, counters volunteer in the Church Office to assist the Director of Finance and Treasurer with separating and logging all money and checks Volunteers welcome to assist in managing these offerings of thanks given to the working of the church. Flower Guild

Each week the Flower Guild displays beautiful flowers to give Glory to God and bring focus to the cross during our services. We encourage anybody that likes flowers to join in on the fun. Contact: Sandi Blair.

Fossors

Our team of fossors cares for and maintains the St. Martin’s Memorial Garden. Duties include mapping out and digging grave sites as needed. This is an important and meaningful ministry. Fossors locate a grave site, prepare the grave, attend the service (upon request), and secure the grave after the service. Training is provided. Contact: Rob Fraser.
